The Ultimate SUPEROSITY T-Shirt

Postby Chris Crosby on Fri Jul 22, 2005 10:18 pm

I would like to make a SUPEROSITY T-Shirt. A real one, not those crappy Cafe Press things I was doing in the stone age of the internet.

I have 6+ years of lore to draw from, but I am having trouble pinpointing the perfect line or image from that history to reproduce in T-Shirt form. All I know is it should be something attractive and wearable for SUPEROSITY readers as well as those who have not heard of SUPEROSITY and even those people who have heard of SUPEROSITY and hate it with an insane passion.

Since some of you seem to know the strip even better than I (or at least have clearer memories of the archive than I do), I figured I should ask what you folks think.

Then I decided against asking you folks anything, because it would make me look weak.

Good day, sirs.

Okay, okay: what do you folks think?

"My poop tastes like candy" would seem like the obvious choice.
Where did that come from?

The shirt Dezro wants
The shirt Revsam wants
The Shirt Paul Ganss wants

I think I might have wanted a shirt at some point but I forgot what of and I can't find my thread. Ditto SBernard.

A Superosity T-shirt would have to feature that teacher who cries all lesson because she had hoped her career to be like the movie which I don't recall the name of. Every reader must surely hold her as their favourite character, albeit in secret.

I don't know if anybody would want to wear a shirt which discusses the flavour of certain varieties of poop. What is amusing on the internet can be less amusing emblazoned across a chest.

I can FEEL the helping inside me!

This is my favorites list now...

1.) "I'm Glad I'm Not A Jerk"
2.) "Get Off That Horse! It's RADIOACTIVE!"
3.) "My Poop Tastes Like Candy"
4.) "PESH"

But not in that order, of course.

I'll have to make mock-ups now.

Is this too simple a design, or so-simple-it-just-might-work?

At one point someone that wasn't me pointed out the obvious greatness of Bobby's immortal complaint:

"I have a crappy feeling about this, idiots."

I think that was Dave Kelly.

How about something like "This t-shirt doesn't smell like a t-shirt should", after the line, "...my briefcase doesn't smell like a briefcase should", by that crazy lawyer who defended Bobby and Snap.

JERKSHIRT

Postby Dezro on Sat Jul 23, 2005 9:33 am

I completely forgot I wanted that! And it is cool! I would totally buy them both if the people who put things on T-shirts ever made them in tall sizes.

Tall sizes are fun. I typically just get XL, which is sometimes a little too wide, but are typically tall enough. (I used to get XXL, but those are now waaay to wide and it's like wearin' a dress.)

Hmm, our supplier doesn't seem to offer T-Shirts in tall sizes.

Better with emphasis.

I wasn't thinking of buying one, but it's nice enough to make me reconsider my position.

I don't know if your supplier does this, but I think that design would look cool with the collar/edge-of-the-sleeves being white or whatever. Then again, I usually think most t-shirts would look cooler with that type of design.

That's, like, the Nega-Baseball T! White collar and sleeves! If you came in contact with anyone who plays baseball, you would effectively destroy them! You'd also probably lose the shirt in the process.

And a giant URL to the website right underneath the picture. Also try make sure some white pixels are visible around various pasted areas on the black background. This indicates Photoshopping occured and people will respect you for that.

Well, I don't know about anyone else but I graduated from the New York School of Fashion Design with a Bachelors Degree in FABULOUS, lolz j/k!

Chris, allow me to rap to you for a second. Let's say you're chilling out with your crew and maybe you lost a game of hoops and want to get back your cred. So you're at your house and you're like, "Hey guys be right back I'm just gonna get my cool wraparound shades" but then you come back from your room wearing this EVEN COOLER Bobby Crosby wraparound nightgown!

Image

See how the copyright information just wraps around the bottom there? That's so everyone will know where you got it from, even when they're checkin' you out. Maybe the shirts could also be customizeable too, so you could have Bobby and then the word "FRESH" right next to his head. When you're out clubbing, this nightgown will totally turn some heads AND SOME PHONE NUMBERS lolz j/k! This Bobby Crosby nightgown has everything a young black man like yourself could want AND MORE.

OK, wait. Here's a serious one. How about "All I can think of is Mickey Rooney."

I mean I guess he could sue you for that, but still, it'd be a funny shirt. Especially if a little heart was included.
