I've read through the entire long (but not too boring) story, but I don't remember a conclusion other than "boardy's not a... whatever those other boards were".
Follow up question - what were those other boards again?
I'd simply reread, but this forum really needs some damn activity.

It was ambiguous. Boardy may have been denial about Board Dimension boards, so he might be one of them, and Chris probably still assumes he is.

All we really know is that they're the dominant lifeform of an alternate dimension.
