KL has returned.

What a nice year this this is turning out to be. I finally choose my major, Krazy Larry starts once again, HellBoy comes to theaters, Invader ZIM to be released on DVD, a KL graphic novel is soon to come, and I finally got a chinese orphen to be a sandwich slave (he makes me sandwiches, you see).

Life is good.

Unless this is all some horrific April fool's joke, then I WILL find you, Paul! I'll get my sandwich slave to make you the dryest turky club EVER.

Mike Leffel! Where have you been?! Where are you going?! How long have you been there, and where is my apple martini?!

Good to be back, people. To quote an email I just received from a returning reader, "Now...make with the funny".

I'll try, little Billy. I'll try....

What a great April Fools Day joke! Let us wait for the new strip and ACTUALLY have it up! You got me good Paul!

Glad you're back. Just have Keenspot take your forum out of the "dead comics" list. :D

I won't even ask for color either.

I'm so happy that Krazy Larry is back -- and coming out in book format. I think KL is one of the best-drawn, funniest strips I've ever seen. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if I were ever to name an heir to the Melonpool Empire, it'd be Paul Southworth.

You can use this on the back cover of KL2, if you want. ;)

This is exactly what I do when I've had too much Raspberry iced tea.

Thanks, everyone, for the kind words, and for coming back.

Oh, and hang tight Rich, elusive color will be making the occaisional appearance, as will the continuation of the "Recovered Memories" storyline. Maybe they will coincide. Only my hairdresser knows for sure.

Nice to see Larry's back. I'm not sure I'm sold on the change in the art style, tho' - Larry's new, rounded face just doesn't say "crazy as fsck" to me the same way that as his sharply-angular features in the earlier strips did. Ezekiel now reminds me vaguely of Homer Simpson, too.

Maybe it's just me. ;)

Wow, I'm shocked anyone even noticed. None of it was a conscious decision, of course...so few of the things I do are. It's just a natural progression when you draw something over and over and over, you tend to adjust things that aren't working, or look clunky. Streamlining, you know. I used to have a tough time drawing Larry, as there never seemed to be enough room for his mouth, and the head shape and fur on the sides of his head was never very consistent. If you look back on the old art, I think you'll agree that the way he's drawn now just looks beter over all.

Besides, as my mother always used to say, it's not "crazy as fuck" on the outside that counts, it's "crazy as fuck" on the INSIDE.

Oh, and the only thing I changed on Ezekiel was his mouth, so there

Perhaps; I think I shall reserve judgement until I've seen a more representative sampling of the expressiveness of Larry's "new" face - perhaps it was simply seeing him with a good-natured grin rather than a sadistic leer that threw me.

(And holy smoot, I'm still logged in? I hadn't posted on the Keenspot forums in months - don't these cookies ever expire? :o )

I couldnt help noticing Larry's squishy round face as well. He head looks... fat?
The older comic he had the whole crazy starved manged cat looking goin' on, seemed more fitting.

Oh well, long as I have my Larry.

Aw, it's just cuz I've been drawing him for two years and nobody's seen it. You'd never have noticed if I'd been posting all along. My bad.

If you want to see the organic evolution, buy the book!
