Dawn of World 2 (MOVED TO NEW FORUM)

Postby Nerre on Fri Jan 20, 2012 5:39 am

Seeing so many people interessted in being gods (can't understand why, it's a fulltime job!!!) but no place left in game 1. I cannot stand there sad faces (or posts), so i decided to open up another round. I put the three interested in playing into the list. Please let me know if you don't want to play anymore. :)

Another game presented to you by the ubergod of  :rootbeer:
This time with a more continental map.

Again it will be 5 gods to keep it balanced.

Link to the rulebook:
http://www.clanwebsite.org/games/rpg/Dawn_of_Worlds_game_1_0Final.pdf

god 3: LicentiousDey (Ibn, God of Purity)
god 2: Quarg (Ubo the Dog of Darkness)
god 5: Narie666 (Swoosh, God of Movement)
god 1: SilverMK2 (God of the Corrupted Path)
god 4: Nikohl (Nepsis, God of Balance)

Gameworld

Don't get this mixed up with Game 1, else i will have to flog of your wings and eat your halos!

One turn goes like this:
1 - I update the map. The link is above and won't change. I can't include a svg using IMG, but clicking on the url is no hard job. ;)
2 - I dice your points with 2d6 and add them too your points left from the previous turn. The order of your turns also depends on your dice result each turn.
3 - You post your actions with a picture in the order i posted in 2. Please also name the target hex field number. If you want to change the island shaped like a duck, it would be H18. If you want to change the single one in the middle right at the bottom, it is N5.
4 - I adept your actions to the map and take away the points for the actions.
5 - Next turn. Go to point 1.

I am not a God...

But I play a God...Ubo the Dog of Darkness

Yea when Ubo shakes there is rain,
When Ubo wags there is wind,
When Ubo sleeps there is sun...

Thanks for doing this Nerre, I was annoyed by getting left out because I wanted to get a feel for the game mechanics under the standards rules.

I don't know about Ubo, but the God of the Corrupted Path is a nice, fluffy god, kind to all the creatures of the world...

I have my reasons for using Ubo...

Oh and who says Ubo is evil? Just because Ubo walks the world when it is dark...

(Obviously none of you have found yourselves being woken at the dead of night by your black labs wandering about the house for no apparent reason)

:D

I do not autimatically equate darkness to evil; indeed "the corrupted path" could easily be "life", if one were to believe that life is a corruption of the natural order of the universe :o

Though I have been woken many times by my cats (often when they jump on my face in the morning so I will go and feed them).

You realize that the implications of that statement are quite worrying... :-?

I think you need more of an explanation that "Corruption" if you don't want to be evil. For example: snakes are often treated as goddesses of femininity. Not because of their venomous nature (hah), but because snakes shed their skin once a month. I think you can see the connection .

If corruption is the essence of life, you might want to state as much. And if Ubo isn't evil, but still represents darkness, then you might want to say so. Maybe an alignment is all that is necessary?

Ibn, God of Purity. (I'm guessing if the God of Corruption is Life, then the God of Purity is Death. hehe.)

And here it goes. The Ubergod clicks his fingers and another world and more gods move into existance.

The world:
http://www.nerregatt.de/games/dow/world2.svg
http://www.nerregatt.de/games/dow/world2.png

This is the order of your move and your points diced for the first turn:
god 3: LicentiousDey (Ibn, God of Purity) = 9 points
god 2: Quarg (Ubo the Dog of Darkness) = 8 points
god 5: Narie666 (Swoosh, God of Movement) = 8 points
god 1: SilverMK2 (God of the Corrupted Path) = 8 points
god 4: Nikohl (Nepsis, God of Balance) = 6 points

Ubo gets slapped with a newspaper roll for being so pushy. He barks "quarg quarg". ;)

Have fun!

No, but in case of an collision the first one by order wins. then the other would have to post something else or pass.

try to look into World 1, they already had some questions like that which i already answered. :)

Ubo picks up a rock in the deep darkness of the deep sky...

He drops it upon V12? Where it shatters the sea and the land below pushing up an almost cicular wall of crushed layered rock like the jaws of some lithic monster. ( 3 points)

Ubo then drops down to the sea, and as he slides to a stop on the ocean floor he pushes up the land at V10 rising the land at the north end into low hills that drop into marshes to the south. (3 points)

(I am not quite sure since I am trying to figure out about number of edits allowable per hex and cost here..I am not sure how to indicate 'hills' which I just marked with 'forest' and the marsh I marked in red.

Total points used 6

terraform is one action. im not shure if saying there should be forrest/marshland or anything related to plants into that or if that is climate.

EDIT: Just read through the manual again, the flora is part of shape land = terraforming.

climate is seperated and mainly directs how much rain/snow a hex gets and what it's temperature is. For example, if you make a forrest in one hex but say it is hot it will end up as savanah, rainforrest or dessert, depending how wet you want it to be.

2nd EDIT: Quarg, you missed the last edit. 6 points is ok.

Let's see... Ibn raises the Island of 4B about four thousand feet above sea level as a plateau/moore. He then sends waves under the sea to carve out hundreds of miles of caverns deep below sea level, some even winding to the surface. Effectively making a giant swiss cheese wheel of rock.

He sets the climate to "Tundra" a cold, ocean regulated block of swiss rock.

SPOILERS:I shall call the island "Ibnasia" muahahaha.
