I have spent the semester making a procedural world generator. There have been two primary goals for this: creating a full world for my own games, and possibly creating a world to be shared. This project is pretty much done; there are some minor adjustments and tweaks to be made, but no major changes. The one thing remaining is the civilization descriptions. That is, the likes, dislikes, and other attributes of a whole bunch of civilizations. The more that are included, the better. So, I'm asking for you guys to help.

Here is an example of the format:

Most of those fields are fairly self-explanatory, I hope. Starting Year is the year they first formed a city. For younger races, this could be well over 1000. Aggression is how likely they are to attack an enemy, in a range from 0-100. Strength is how good they are in combat, again from 0-100. Population Density is how many members of a race can fit in a given area. Busy human cities are probably from 1000 to 1500. Growth Rate is how fast their population grows. This has no hard limits, but for most civilizations will be well under 100. Everything else deals with where this civilisation prefers to live. The maximum and minimum slope of the land (minimum is 0, 5 is too steep for trees to grow), maximum and minimum temperatures they will accept (temperatures are roughly Fahrenheit), the maximum and minimum precipitation (amount of time it spends precipitating, from 0-100) how far away from other cities of their own they like to settle (30 is a close/middle distance), how much they care about those things (The four Importances, plus the largest of the bonuses should add up to 100). The Delta Bonus applies if there's both a river and an ocean adjacent to a city location. If there's just a river, the River Bonus applies. Likewise for Oceans.
Restricted Biomes are biomes the civilization refuses to live in. These are the available biomes:
Sea, River, Ice, Tundra, Taiga, Desert, Grassland, Coniferous Forest, Mixed Forest, Broadleaf Forest, Rock
Note that, for Sea and River biomes, living in one would be living under or on top of water.
Relationships list how the civilization feels about other civilizations. Negative values signify enmity. Positive values signify friendship. Enemies are more likely to go to war. Relationships can range from -1000 to 1000. You don't have to include any neutral/0 relationships.

Note that civilizations do not have to be discrete races. There can be a whole bunch of human civilizations, for example, with different likes and dislikes. One might live in the desert, grow slowly, and rarely attack others. Another might live just about anywhere, and attack just about anyone. The more civilizations, the better.

i got a old hexagon-map editor, which i wrote around 1996 in pascall. he could draw tiles like you wanted and set an nearly unlimited list of parameters for each field. maybe i can still find the source (or math and tiles) if you are interessted.

Oh, what I've got works. I just have some tweaking to do. I went ahead and made 69 different civilizations. While working through that, I thought of a large number of things to changes. Still, this will hopefully be done before I go home.
