Cockadoodle does not want to hurt the creature further. She moves right two rooms to get away from the nightmarish situation.

DarkRoot moves left and enters a lab room. A strange scientist looking creature turns from the control panel. "Skreecg" it screams and shoots it's tongue like a weapon at DarkRoot. Unfortunately since it has been ten turns since the last time DarkRoot absorbed any water his disability goes into effect. The creature damages DarkRoot for 2 points dropping him to half health.

Image

Fang jumps into the box and it begins to spin causing him to pass out...

"There is a creature at my well?" it yells "There has to be a panel somewhere to get me down!" it begins freaking out until PinkNose begins soothing it with her healing wand.

Image

"First of all that 'plank' is the shelf. Secondly the elemental effect is a rotating effect for the spear, rotating between earth, fire, explosive, and acid. As for retrieving it you can either barter for it or you can go on a quest for me." the demon says to Orka.

Cockadoodle moves two rooms to the right.

5 Attack?!? ....shit.

DarkRoot will turn and bravely run away, going back the way he came. Unless the creature can hit him as he retreats, in which case he'll attack and go out fighting.

Also, why is it my Absorption always seems to run out at the worst possible times :grumble:

Healing fountain's guardian, can you describe the panel to our Chickslash? We really want to help you, but it would be good to know what we are looking for."

PinkNose will try and calm the creature down and heal it some more. Also, she will try to feel around the restrains of the pillar, maybe she can find some way to have them retract.

I am quite sure that this "scientist-looking" creature is the one experimenting on the poor tortured creature. I also think DarkRoot needs some help fighting it. Does anyone have directions for me?

See the thing about that is DarkRoot stumbled upon the wondrous power of a two-way spot-changing portal. Anytime a creature is in range of a portal connected to the one that he pulled the lever too their positions were reversed. Each portal that is connected to it, with the exception of the one near Orka, had a 10% chance of a creature coming into range and switching with DarkRoot

Shares, Cockadoolde could help very well, since she is the only creature with seeing eyes - both PinkNose and Jack are BLIND. We could examine the room and/or the pillar and/or the buttons and might never find anything, while a seeing creature might spot something very quickly. But suit youself, I dont think the creature is about to die, so technically we aren't in a hurry, I guess...

Heeding the others' call, Cockadoodle moves back left and examines the buttons again, even more closely than last time. She touches everything, pushes, pulls and twists, yet does not push in any of the buttons, not wanting to cause more pain than absolutely necessary. She wishes she were elsewhere, even a chicken coop would be better.

You can't get to the lever room which activates the portals and have no idea where DarkRoot is relative to your position.

Fang's box reappears and ejects him before flinging out of existence once again.

Image

DarkRoot flees to the portal room followed by the creature. The portal has returned to it's neutral state and as such DarkRoot is now cornered.

Image

PinkNose feels around the restraints. The tubes seem to merge into the pillar and the are tightly secured to the creature. "I don't know where the panel is." it says to her.

Image

Cockadoodle and Jack move into the button room and look at the buttons. They appear to have all stop flashing. Other then pressing the buttons in there doesn't appear to be any way to manipulate them.

Image

Orka asks the demon about the quest. "Bring me the Sword of Zeprith" the demon says before transporting Orka to another area.

Sigh :grumble:

Welp, might as well go out fighting.....

I'll try the diplomacy idea first.

"Wait, I mean you no harm! Please, I am lost and only wish to find my way home. Nothing more."

If the creature still attacks, DarkRoot will defend himself him trying the cut off it's tongue with all of his wooden might.
And the sword. That too.

Grumpily, Cockadoodle presses all the buttons, from left to right, top to bottom. while a button is pressed inwards, she will hook the hard tip of her wing into the hole and try to pry the panel loose from the wall. If that doesn't work at all, on any of the buttons, she will attack and try to destroy the panel.

Thoroughly annoyed with this dungeon and his fellow players, Cockadoodle moves right and upwards.

"Cockadoodle do this, Cockadoodle don't do that, Cockadoodle I know better. Aargh! I've had enough of this. I have a plan, and I'm going to act on it. Sorry, PinkNose, but I can't help, especially if this other bird doesn't let me work. If he doesn't want to break the torture machine to make it stop working, I'll just let him figure out what to do."

SPOILERS:I'll be gone for up to two days, so if I miss an update, Odd, please make Cockadoodle move upwards to the fountain room. She is a chickslash, built for fighting, not for solving riddles, guys, and it seems that examining the panel twice (I already did it the first time I was there) won't help. I think I might convince the impostor at the fountain to help me - peacefully or by applying force. He should at least know how he got the job, from whom, etc.
