This is my thread. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Greetings, and welcome to my thread. It has been created to facilitate a wide range of options for interaction. It's a combination OOC / sign up / interest watchboard / art critique / personal reflection / and games database.
And this is its first post.

Games In-Progress
Goblins in Hell

Games In-Development
--

Games In-Finished
Party Crashers - Finished

I will also take and answer questions, whether complicated or mundane. Welcome to my thread. :shifty:

Several folks expressed interest to me either in the Party Crashers thread, or in the Arena Slaves thread (after my 5 image, 2 animation, and a poem post), or even in friendly PMs asking if I was working on anything else.

As a matter of fact, I am. Here's a teaser preview of what will become "Post 0"

Here you can see goblins of Clan defending their poorly-locked chest from a pair of invading adventurers. Keep an eye on the mage-type ; he's going to be pivotal in events to come.

So, a game where we're goblins, fighting things captured by the SCP Foundation?

Step 1 in the new game:

all pile on the mage killing it ignoring anything he may be required for in future storyline.

I don't think that's us. I think they get slaughtered as a way to show the adventurers power.

How about the: "we are humans made to look like goblins, drop your weapons", and then capturing the two in the confusion that fallows

Well, "slaughtered" is the wrong verb, but, otherwise? That's about right.

So who's this guy?
Image

This fine fellow was actually my first attempt at making a goblin sprite. I simply doubled LSN's sprites in size and corrected for the thicker, more pixelated lines. It soon became apparent to me, however, that this would not due, so I worked to completely redesign the head. Here were my results.

Image

This the first time I have an alternate, female version of the sprite. Notice that the head is now not round, the fangs have been reduced to a minor underbite, and I've used a different shape for the ears. If you think these sprites look extra familiar, you'd be right! All the goblins sprites in Party Crashers were cut from these two.

After working with the party crasher sprites, I came to an important conclusion -- having bodies be an even number of pixels made it harder to design and detail clothes. There could never be anything set in the center without taking up a full two pixels. Given that, I continued to refine the sprites, eventually getting these guys:
Image

While the biggest change is in the length of the goblin's bodies (now 3 pixels), you can also see changes I've made to the arms and legs, and the fact that the male goblins now have broader shoulders and chests.

When designing sprites for my latest game, I began to have trouble with the goblin's hands. Simply put, the fingers were hard to articulate when the goblin in question was grasping something. Secondly, I had finally created a human sprite, with a better hands model, and compare to that, the goblins' hands were awkward and stand offish. I eventually gave up on detailing individual fingers, differentiating between only the thumb and the rest of the hand's fingers. I had the hands a little bigger when I realized - Thunt's goblins only have four fingers! I shaved the hands one final time to better match Thunt's goblins. As this was both easier to draw with items, and it looked better, I was ultimately very happy with it.

At short last, Goblins in Hell is here.

Don't have time to finish getting the rules up tonight, so I shall post the rules (and sign-ups shall open!) on the morrow.

This looks very cool - any ideas how you're going to accept players in this one? I suspect I might be in the wrong timezone if it's first-come first-served but would love to play if I can :)

Are the sign-ups for Goblins in Hell going to be like most, just first seven in? If it is, then judging by my probable failure at working out what the forum time is compared to my own, I'd say I'm about half an hour away from ideal timing. Blast.

Don't know if you saved the list of Applications, but since it disappeared and i'm not sure i will get access to a comp again before the sign up time end (a rare yet occasionally happening occurance, i assure you) i would like to restate my interest in playing and preference toward being the Teller.

I'm just restating me interest to be in the game, and a slight interest in Teller.

Oh, *#$@ Keenspot. Let's see if I can't get a google cache of the page, or somethin.

On the other hand, it *did* cleanse the recruitment posts from the games thread (where they weren't intended to be in the first place)! Ahaha...

On the third hand, it wiped the rules post as well. So... damn. I hope I saved that somewhere around here...
