Defiant gazes around at the green field and the camp, and turns over to where the goblins are democratically voting.

He sees the options: Rides The Wind, Hides in Shadows and To Be Decided as Captain, and Rides, Hits-to-hard and surprisingly him as lieutenant. Defiant barked out a laugh at that one.

Looking over the potential canidates, Defiant reluctantly concluded that TBD's speech was very rousing and appreciative, but then crossed that thought out when he remembered that the "Chief" of the clan had to be the smartest, fastest, strongest person, or else all will fail and the clan will plunge into darkness.

Hides in Shadows, as stated, is a cowardly person and not worthy of being captain. So that made the natural Choice as Rides the wind.

Defiant voted for Rides as the captain, and decided to vote for TBD as the lieutenant.

Captain Voting (i didn't assign Rides' as he seemed to be hesitating, he get to be the tie breaker, heh?)
Rides the Wind : 4/9 (Eats, Hits, Defiant & Foxes)
To Be Decided : 4/9 (TBD, Play, Nightgaunt & Hides)

LT: (at least 4 votes to reassign depending on who Rides decide to make captain.)
Hits : 1/9? (Hits)
Rides : 4/9 (Play, TBD, Nightgaunt & Hides)
TBD : 1/9 (Defiant)

Break the tie one way or another Rides, the way it's going you're getting one or the other job either way!

And i think Ratha's post meant we are gonna get our first turn of action tonight : if i may suggest we should split in pair and explore the four adjacent squares right away. As for me i will check the LOS limitations :

Play with Fire climbs to the nearby tree and look around hoping to get a hint as to where the first dungeon might be situated. Play will also try to break off branches for use as pointy sticks and see if there is fruits/bugs that could be used as food in the tree. If unable/Disallowed/Judged futile to do the previous action(s), Play will move North.(I'm assuming that the bird view mean that we aren't only gonna move in 2D. Don't doubt the power of pointy sticks and yeah i'm pretty sure i got 2-3 actions maybe 4 right there, got at them in order and tell me if i gotta spend more turns on them.)

EDIT: Added to action, ideas hit me like a brick when i get my coffee in the morning.

I agree with ThinkingofNames on this one. Let's explore the four adjacent squares, that way we get a sense of our surroundings. This open area doesn't seem like the best area for a camp.
Hides in Shadows will wait to see where Hits Too Hard goes. Hits Too Hard is strong and big and might distract anything that comes their way, giving Hides a chance to...well, hide.

We will know who's Captain when Rides vote. He get to choose who is Captain and if he wanted to could ensure he is Lieutenant unless he is Captain. (He just need to vote for himself to win either by majority as things stand.)

If he choose to be captain then we will need a second round of voting to determine the Lieutenant, but that's all.

For the moment the most sensible actions are exploration of the immediate area, attempting to get weapons and searching for food.

Hits-to-hard goes up big tree, brake big branch, use as club.
Also look for food, or other thing, in tree.

Choices choices choices... I think TBD should be captain, besides I don't want to keep the votes dragging. I'm still Lieutenant either way. :P

There is also still the option of killing him in his sleep. :D

You're not running out of time. I should have responded sooner, but part of the reason for the early update is that I have to be somewhere, so I'll post the results of your actions tomorrow, and the results of the election along with the 'turn 0' info today. In half an hour. :)

The voting ends! The Captain is To Be Decided. The Lieutenant is Rides the Wind. The game begins!

Note: The Captain MUST choose a campsite before the end of the first day. The location of the campsite CAN be changed.

Meanwhile, Play With Fire and Hits to Hard begin climbing the nearby tree.

All the goblin explorers have traits or skills now. You yourselves will need to figure out what they do, and how they work. Some are more obvious than others:

Play with Fire
Traits: Attuned to fire

To Be Decided
Traits: Grand Destiny

Hides in Shadows
Traits: Hard to see, Dagger Proficiency, Clumsy

Nightgaunt
Traits: Sneaky

Hits to Hard
Traits: Puncher

Eats a Weird Bug
Skills: Bug Tamer

Defiant
Traits: Defiant

Rides the Wind
Traits: Dual short sword Proficiency

Talks to Foxes
Skills: Tracking, Talking to foxes


As the game goes on, you may learn more skills and traits, or improve the ones you have. As it stands, I tried to make the actual effects as balanced as possible.

You sense that a party of adventurers are coming. They will be here on turn 10!

SPOILERS:*this* is the turn where you take your first actions. That's why, instead of moving Play and Hits to the top of the tree, I only started Play and Hits up the tree. We'll see if they're successful next turn.
This way, everyone has a chance to post a first action.

Hits-to-hard climbs up tree.
Brake branch for club, then look for food, and other things in tree.
Maybe even climb to top, and look over land, If climbing not hard.

Eats A Weird Bug

I start digging around the roots of the tree, as that seems like a likely place to find some bugs. Probably not big awesome ones, but possibly small edible ones which I can gather to feed everyone later. I tell Play With Fire and Hit To Hard to let me know if there are any bugs up in the tree.

If I notice that any other goblin is wandering off alone, I'll follow them. Otherwise I'm good here for now.

Attuned to fire, huh? i hope there is a Flame Tongue or equivalent somewhere in this world!
And no offense Hides, but you are forever banned from carrying nitroglycerin close to me, on the off chance Clumsy means you have your own custom critical failure table like Fumbles.

Hides generally agrees with Eats in the course of action. Going off alone seems like bad joojoo. He's going to make a cursory examination of the tree, hoping to find a hollow, or perhaps some pointy sticks or, if he is really lucky, some furry critters to turn into a furry dinner. If he is really, really lucky, he might find all of them.

He then considers his track record and finds it unlikely.
