When you said this, I had this flash of memory from the kid's movie Alladin "... INCREDIBLE COSMIC POWER ... itty bitty living space ...". Here we have this arm thing that can kill demons in a single attack, yet is bound to live within poor little Dies.

Edit: P.S. I might have that quote wrong now...? Maybe it was PHENOMENAL, not INCREDIBLE...? Gee, I gotta watch that again sometime...

Yep, it's pheomenal. And I don't have any kids, I just Disney and most other animated movies myself.
And yes, i got to watch that one again sometime soon, too.

BTT: I thought there was a lot uncharacteristic in Dies latest behaviour, but I didn't "call" it. I'm kind of glad it turns out that he is not that cold hearted killing machine, though. Anyway, being next to a sleeping Dies might prove very dangerous in the future...

My guess, (which has probably been mentioned at least once by someone else ) is that the hand can only take control when it "feeds" enough. As in, when enough blood comes in contact with the hand. Which would make using the hand as a weapon potentially dangerous, because everything made of blood killed with it might bring the hand in control. And, well, he's not too friendly.

Hmm, I can't recall any exact incidents but I have heard Thunt talking about Klik and I think I would remember if Thunt had called Klik "she." Maybe arm has two daddies.

"Father" being Klik is what makes most sense to me as well. "Mine" could be interpreted as "of my kind" - ie. not a "thing" to be used by humanoids, but "one of us" meaning... whatever (outsider?) race Klik and the hand are.

(Alternatively, although a bit more of a stretch, perhaps it's "mine" as in "mine to fight" - perhaps the Hand hates Klik for creating it as a "forbidden" symbiote instead of as a full, free member of Klik-kind, and wants revenge in the form of a father/offspring duel? Think (Mary Shelley's, as opposed to various movieverses) Frankenstein...)

I really thought Saves would kill one demon. As a level 6 fighter, she must be kind of shocked that all 4 of the demons were killed by people who (as far as we know) don't even have class levels. That could be a source of tension as well...

Questions: Where now is the Extra Large Orc? And when will Grem come back?

(A thought: what if the reason Grem has taken so long to rejoin the party is that he has found the real Orb of Bloodlight?)

The arm, a child, acts childish in that it feels Dies only needs it; however it still wants to protect Dies and dies only - alone. It didn't recognize the orc as someone dies may have been dependent on as it died as soon as it was seen and hasn't directly lifted a finger to say "I want to help the group".

Possible future scene: Saves suggests that Dies gets his arm back with the orb, arm goes ape-shite. I guess a symbiotic organism would be very protective of the host, and if Dies is the father what does that make Klick?

You're right. KLIK is the father; Dies is the MOTHER. But the arm may not see it that way.

All this talk saying the arm is female seems ridiculous to me. It's much more like an only child with a single parent. They spend all their time together because they are each other's family. Then, the single parent starts dating and this child feels lonely and jealous and possessive. "That is my daddy, why is my daddy with you and not me, why are you important, you're not my mom" sort of thing, you know. This is like a kid who freaks out and does the cliche line "Who are you to tell me what to do, you're not my real dad", except the kid has the ability to literally tear the step-parent apart when its upset.

I'm mostly convinced by the use of the word "bitch." That's a thing that females call each other to the face. Guys do not do that seriously. Of course, the arm doesn't have the same social repercussions looming over it as the guys I'm acquainted with, but it says that to me anyways.

Other than that, great update. It's kind of interesting how the arm returned to normal so quickly, but I think we can lay the arm IME question to rest.

Also I think Thunt said that this was the last page of this story arc on the feed.

If it would have been posted on the 29th, I'd agree with you. Yes, his schedule says Tuesdays and Fridays, but the comic was posted on Wednesday, so that's the date I titled with.

Bleach, for some reason. The point here is that the Superpowered Evil Side looks after its 'owner' and no-one else, and generally what's good for their continued survival is good for everyone else's. At least Dies snapped out of it before indulging in a little attempted team-killing.

I say 'for some reason' because of all the other dark sides in the world to pick on, the one that's a classical Shadow archetype (probably entirely intentional, given that the author knows the word 'immanent') is not a good match for Dies' externally-created tongue-eating-louse-thing.
