EDIT: And you still haven't addressed the original complaint. If Dwight is indeed a fundamentalist as he seems to have been characterized as and the good doctor is all prickly about his name then Dwight wouldn't have used it to needle him by casting his Jewish Heritage as a pejorative, but rather by implying it was his one redeeming feature.

Without giving too much away, the Texans play a big role later on. The Texan's survived like the others by going to extremes, and I will cover them in more detail when the times right. So far you've only seen them in the light of people that don't like them.

Well, I don't mind some character development, and I agree with fundamentalist Christians and how they love Jews, but we don't necessarily know them to be fundamentalists. All we've seen is people who hate them characterize them...and if those were true, then the reality of rednecks MUST be true. In fact, I'd have a beer gut, love Bush, and would want to remain at war. Anyways, I don't mind the "Southerners Suck" sticker that's currently seen, as long as it doesn't claim I had sex with my relatives.
