Adam excellent page! The lighting of the headlight of the motorcycle is fantastic, as well and the colors. You my friend are producing a masterpiece! Keep up the great work.

Thanks, man! I wasn't too sure about that page when I slapped it together yesterday, so it's good to know that it's not as bad as I thought it was.

I'm getting the itch again to experiment with the coloring, and possibly the inking. Still not sure what I'm going to do, though. I may save it for a scene coming up in a couple of months. We'll see.

About spook's helmet:

Darth vader + German pickelhaube + Viking helmet = coolest helmet ever.

Close, actually! But not quite. The real story is weirder.

As for Spook's helmet: there was this Saturn ad that played on TV here in the States back around...oh, I don't recall exactly...sometime in the early 1990s. Saturn is a car company here, and that was back when they were just getting started.

One of the ads had a couple of bikers admiring a Saturn-made automobile, and one of the bikers had a huge set of Texas Longhorn horns on his helmet, with fur wrapped around the base of the horns. Immediately, I said, "Holy shit! That's Spook's motorcycle helmet!"

EDIT: I couldn't find the actual commercial (it's been removed from YouTube), but I did find a still image:

Not the highest quality, but you get the idea.

I also found the very first image I drew of Spook's helmet--from February 1996, in that never-published third issue of the original comic:

Judging by today's page, I apparently remembered those horns as being much, much bigger than they really were.

I get more and more drawn in with each update. Spook's helmet is indeed bad ass and the lighting was quite good. It's cool getting to see the beginnings of Spook and Locus' father's friendship.

I want a bike like that, but can't afford one.

Spook won't even let me take his for a spin. "Nobody drives the Widowmaker!" he says.

Bastard.

You can't be angry on Spook... Because Spook won't ever be angry on you. He will simply kill you

But yes, that bike is one word excelent. When talking about bikes, do you know the Orange Country Choppers? This group got one nice TV show about making choppers and honestly, their bikes are brilliant.

I caught a couple of episodes of OCC back around 2004-ish. I dig the bikes, but that family...good god, it's like watching a train wreck.

No, I guess I'm just starving.

Though I plan on learning how to draw comics. I already draw a little. It's fairly decent, if I can say anything about it, but I lack the knowledge of background drawing, character interaction and coloring/shading. Or so to speak 80% of the whole damn thing. But a guy can dream.

Well, I'm living proof that any idiot with a pencil and a little patience can make comics.

Here's the trick: Start with stick figures, then work up from there.

Hambone, in fact, likes to draw what he calls "Stick-Spook", which is where he cuts out a picture of Spook's head and photoshops it onto a stick-figure body. He keeps telling me that he's going to make a whole Stick-Spook comic, but I haven't seen him do it yet.

Get to work, Hambone!
