What a lovely spot for the TwoLumps forum, James!

You have to love anything about slightly sadistic kitties. 8)

Why don't we go for TWO whole posts, then? You know...if you guys just attack people who join, then they won't post more than once.

I probably should have done this in the same post as previous...combine if you would like. :)

I don't think I've had a chance to say hello to you before, Mel. I am glad the forums now work. I hope other fans have a chance to come in and join the conversation.

Thanks for putting that announcement on the TwoLumps page. I didn't visit the forums before, but I hope to come here from now on.

Those are idiots n00bs. Here I have a chance to develop another online community through fierce hazing in which the weak willed will leave, and those with a strong enough resolve will stay and make another awesome forum.

Well, the old forumers were a pretty hardy lot, having to deal with Russian spambots, neo-Nazi troll weirdos, and SQL errors out the wazzoo, not to menion, well, J. Grant. I'm pretty confident they'll all hold their own.

Heck I just survived my own hazing over at the Penny Arcade SE++ forums, and I'm pretty sure I have all my fingers and toes still... *counts*

Now I've got this mental picture in my head about robots in KGB outfits showing up in a forum and dragging members away to a infernal hell of porn and viruses.

Anywho, think of my methods as Internet Darwinism. Or Forum Eugenics.

GTFO

Postby jameslgrant on Sat Feb 24, 2007 6:43 am

How about I think of your methods as the practices of a fat forty-year-old in his grandmother's basement, wobbling his pudgy, maggotlike fingers over his Macbook, coated in cat hair, lint and dorito crumbs, giggling like some kind of fucked-up aging Elmo as he alternately spanks it to kiddie porn and posts here trying to act like a big shot?

Behave, kid. I can out-troll you with one eye closed.

Please.

I don't troll, I simply create a competitive environment where those who havn't grown thick enough skin usually will disappear into eternal lurk-mode, leaving the people who can take the hits and come out swinging to post without hindrance. Of course, this does ward off the fans, keeping them from giving you guys your daily ego boost. I could see how it could be a problem.

BUT, if this comic is as popular as it seems, then there should be no shortage of them flooding in, given a proper amount of time, of course. Humans are naturally unobservant, they won't notice the news announcement tucked up in the corner. I'd suggest moving the news to where it displays before the comic itself. Or at least recent news like the EGS site has.

Besides, the best trolls are the ones who don't resort to flaming in a vain attempt to get a rise out of someone. The best trolls use the weapon that is the written word, striking out with the right word at the right time, and doing so much more than just causing a defensive reaction. There's a good Shakespeare quote out there that pertains to this, but with minimal effort comes minimal results, and I'm not booting up CivIV just to find it.

Wow...

Postby FayeCat on Sat Feb 24, 2007 9:18 am

Ok..why does this feel like some sort of fucked up Cat induced version of a bad Rocky remake? What with Trolls, and people living as hermits in their grandmother's basements, and well various other "characters" in the wings. This could get quite entertaining, so I'll grab the popcorn.

Forgive me for being a forum n00b but besides the honourable creators, just HOW are you all involved together? Mostly in reference to ChibiBecca and Stingra. Seems to be a rather tense yet hilariously offensive relationship if I've ever seen one.

Anywho...I apologize for interrupting your megalomaniacal thinking.

And if this were the forum for FLEM or a comic of this kind of confrontational nature, I'd be all for it. It is not, however, and your presence here with such an attitude will neither be appreciated nor tolerated. Behave, motherfucker.

Of course, this does ward off the fans, keeping them from giving you guys your daily ego boost. I could see how it could be a problem.

This post is your last warning. If you continue trying to make this forum into the Stingra Show, you will be disallowed from participating. It's not a forum for your personal bullshit. It's a forum for the fans of our comic.

I'd suggest moving the news to where it displays before the comic itself. Or at least recent news like the EGS site has.

That reminds me: Fuck you. I don't remember saying "Gosh, I wonder if some anonymous piece of shit on the net can give me any advice on our web layout."

The best trolls use the weapon that is the written word, striking out with the right word at the right time, and doing so much more than just causing a defensive reaction.

This isn't a Troll Competition. Someone seems to have misinformed you about the nature of this forum. As you are not a fan of our strip and show no interest in such, I advise you just fucking disappear. You will not be missed.

One more word that I don't like and you're gone.

i noticed there was a new keenspot forum and sneeked in to see what it was about..? before that, i'd never heard of the comic before, or anyone here.

not quite sure what i've done to offend anybody. the only relationship i'm in is with my boyfreind, and he doesn't post in these forums. ^^;

well.. other then offending stingra. *mauls him in a freindly way* :p

I'll agree that people are naturally unobservant. But what I have noticed is that they're also naturally annoyed before observant as well. If you plop a news banner before the comic they're coming to get that's other than "HEY THIS IS WHY THE COMIC IS DELAYED" or "HEY THE FORUMS ARE DOWN BECAUSE", I've noticed they get nothing more than an annoyed "meh, why are they wasting my time with this crap?" and then scroll down to read the comic and then email asking aboiut the exact question you answered in the newsbox, while griping about the newsbox being there at all.

I really like EGS and am not harshing on their style at all. But I've noticed that trying it works counterproductively for us, historically.

I wouldn't say so. Me for example, am purposely unobservant. I don't care about your news, your fancy swayer parties or candy bars. I just want to read the comic.

the only 'hazing' I've witnessed on comic forums is tentacle rape.

I guess we know where I spend my time now, don't we...

I remember that I could never get the old forums link to work, and I was disappointed. this is all shiny and new and working. I likes.

 I used to work as an Admin for an online gaming site, not to mention moderating their forum. *shudders* If I was able to deal with whiny n00bs and stuck up vets of the game, I think I can deal with a whiner here. Not to mention, I have plenty of cheese.

NOT unobservant here. The post about the new forum was the first thing I saw, and I always skim my eyes over the announcements to see if there is something new listed.
