RIP Caramon

Finally, a comic that shows what cats are really like.

I registered specifically to say that ... well, normally, when I read these kind of things, I feel sadness removed, secondhand -- an intellectual sort of sadness. Reading this, I felt like I got gutpunched.

I'm so sorry. At least he led an amazing life for a cat: a loved one, one where his pure cat-ness was immortalized and ended up inspiring comic art that made thousands of humans laugh each day. That's a hell of a good life for a cat.

I understand. I still miss Rocky, who has been waiting for me on the other side for 7 years now; kidney failure took her, too. Her last night on Earth was spent curled up on my chest, humming and mixing. We have 7 indoor cats (and 3 who live on the back porch because I couldn't stand to see them looking hungry). Every one is precious.

I'm very sorry for your loss, and share in your pain having to say goodbye to my own Corat / Russian Blue mix Tia a few years ago.

Thank you for all your well-wishes.

We're coping, as people do in this case, but it's a heavy loss.

Thank you again.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Caramon's passing. I'm glad you were able to be with him when he went, though. As painful as it is to watch a pet die, at least he went knowing he was loved.

:(
I wish to send you my deepest condolences in your time of grief. While there are skeptics on whether animals feel emotions or not I believe in my heart that they do, as we certainly do as humans. Caramon was an immensely lucky cat to have been pampered so well in his lifetime and to have such caring individuals in his last days. My heart goes out to your family and that your hearts will heal enough to be able to laugh about the good times without crying for the loss.

With love, prayers and sympathy sent your way.

I've been a reader of Two Lumps for several years now, and I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Caramon. He sounds like a shining example of a feline, and his alter ego has made me laugh many, many times. Here's to you, kitty, with thanks.

Like many of the posters on this thread, I had to register on this forum in order to express my deep and heartfelt sadness at the passing of Snooch / Caramon to the three of you (especially Ebon / Raist).

I've been trying to find the right words, but I just can't find them at all - for one normally so verbose, I now find my volcabulary failing.

I'm so sorry about Caramon. I love Snootch and I lost my own boys to kidney failure too. It's hard. I'm all choked up about Caramon and I didn't even know him: I can't imagine how the two of you must feel.

Thanks for your strips, and I hope you get through this ok. And in a way, Caramon lives forever.

As soon as I saw a photograph rather than a drawing, I had a dreadful feeling. I created an account here just to say, J and Mel, I'm so very sorry.

Hqiz, that's sad. Image

My sincerest condolences on your loss. Two Lumps is a superb strip, and I had no idea it was based on real cats.

We have 12 cats (yeah, we're crazy) and have always loved your comic because of how much Eben & Snooch remind us of two of our cats. We're very sad and want to say we're sorry for your loss :( ::hugs::

I'm so sorry that he had to go so soon, but I'm glad he went purring...
I have two cats myself (brothers, just like Caramon and Raist!) and I know it would break my heart to loose one of them.
I hope Raist can cope with the loss, and you too of course.
Best wishes, and all my condoleanses.

Just registered so I could tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I've been reading Two Lumps for years now and am always tickled by how much they remind me of our cats.

Their lives are far too short, but we'd never give them up for the world.

My sincerest condolences.

I'm heartbroken and so sorry for your loss. Image Through his Internet alter-ego he was loved and will be missd by so many. Thank you for sharing both the highs and the lows of Caramon's life with us all, and for immortalising him in the best possible way.

Lots of hugs and my deepest sympathy for you both, and to Raistlin. (If you can, please let us know how he is coping, too)

At least he went purring into the night surrounded by those who loved him - no pain, just dreams and pettins.

The captain of the carpet ship has sailed for the last time. Kitty heaven will never be the same.

It's always hard to accept when someone who has inspired lots of laughs and love passes away.

My BF woke me up at 2 am to let me know. I didn't believe him until he brought me into the computer room and I read with bleary sleep eyes the news of Caramon's passing.

A group on Google, rec.pets.cats.anecdotes, has been Two Lumps fans from the very beginning and we are all wish Caramon safe passage across the Rainbow Bridge. http://groups.google.com/group/rec.pets ... b4e25eadd#

As a veterinary technician, i see cases like this on a semi-regular basis and it NEVER gets easier. My heartfelt wishes to Raistlin, James and Mel.

Like so many of those that preceded us, we registered with Keenspot specifically to extend our deepest condolences to Mel, J, and Raist on Caramon's passing. We've been long-time readers and see so much of our two sibling cats in Eben and Snooch. We were completely shocked to read about Caramon, and Steven, who's the big softy of the crowd here, cried quite a bit. May you both hug each other tighter the next few days, and scritch Raist extra-much for all of us.

As a friend of ours wrote on another forum, Caramon is the Captain of the Celestial Carpet Ship now. May he rest in peace, knowing he was loved by so many.

As a very long time fan and cat owner... you have my deepest condolences.

Two lumps has time and time again shown me that I'm not the only cat owner who deals with 'this or that' (like the update that had snooch expecting food every time Mel walked in the door).

Truly they can't stay with us long enough.

My little sister came up to my room earlier today looking distraught to tell me the sad news. I put off looking at the page until now, because I knew it would have me in tears, which it did. For it to have upset me this much, I can only imagine how much pain the three of you are in. Our hearts are with your family. It is a wonderful tribute to Caramon that he will live on forever through Snooch, both online and in the books that we, and many of his other fans, own.
R.I.P. Caramon. Forever captain of the carpet ship. We salute you.

OMG. I have just read today's homage to Carmon. It took me almost an hour to stop crying over a cat that I have only known through your wonderfully humorous comic. My heart goes out to the three of you in your time of mourning over the loss of such a delightful pet. I have been reading Two Lumps for a very very long time and it has been one of the small bright spots in my life. Bringing me much laughter over their antics. Thinking of how it almost seems like you are writing about my two pets as well. God bless you all.
