Quite a few of them, really. Ender's Game, StarDust, Good Omens, Kuskel's Dart, So You Want To Be A Wizard, The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress.... probally some others, but that's what springs to mind at the moment.

You read National Geographic for the semi-naked indeginious people in it, don't you? It's okay, that's why most people read it....

well, it's certainly not the stuff they use in that poutine dish. oo

gravy goes well with many dishes, you strange overly-tall mouse-person-thing!

....not a combo I would have thought of... biscuts and gravy, fine. Doughnuts and..... coffee? Milk? ...but not gravy.....

you dunk biscuits in tea, not gravy! oo;

Well, that sorta depends on what sort of biscuts you're talking about.... if you're talking about the flat sweet kind, known to some as cookies, then yes, tea is fine. If you're talking about the flakey buttery muffin sort, then gravy is better.... not sure what those kind are know as by people who don't call them biscuts....

Having referanced wikipedia, apparently 'scone' would be the approprate term.... so.... scones and gravy?

yeah, i wiki'ed that aages ago and was amused by the differances that we have with words like that.
although i wish americans wouldn't use the word 'fanny' in england. oo;

Most of the time I'm okay; may take a moment to figure out 'oh, they're not speaking quite the same language I am'. But every once in a while some turn of phrase blindsides me.

Of course, real trouble isn't other dialects, it's people who speak their own little languages... my cousin's wife is orginally from Brazil. Very intrelligent lady, speaks 5 languages fluently... english... isn't quite one of them...
