Of course, we all love John, he started this mad quest. But! What kind of a guru would he be if he was constantly looking over our shoulders? Not a very good one I expect. At current, all the players are finally settling into their groves and becoming comfortable with each other, which is what is unsettling to Mir. Poor girl is used to being the glue and needs to learn to just be yet another fly stuck in it. You know, like everyone else.

So, what's with Mir and Clayton? There is something there, I can smell it. Will Clayton finally get a nice haircut suddenly and shave off that stash and whoosh! we discover he is actually a rather handsome man with not only a good paying blue collar job and bennies but also an artist's soul, drive and talent that turn out to be just the combo that makes Mir swoon? Seriously, I'm starting to root for the underdogs. Clay has always been one, and Mir is just realizing she's been one all along too.

I see her as having an acute awareness of her shortcomings, as well as an acute desire look past them.

Omigod, I just want to squeeze Ari so tight right now. She looks so cute. I'm sure she's considering lending Stevie the 5 bucks, even if it does sorta reveal what she thinks Sherry is totally unaware of. Still, she could claim that it's all in good fun. Gawd, I hope Sherry goes for it. Not for Ari's sake. (I'm sure it'll just make it all the harder on her! After all, Sherry is straight. And in love with someone else.) Do it for MY sake, Sherry... ^.^

Thanks, SAGG. I do like to think that Miriam and her cohorts are a little more complex than your average comic characters. I think I've been more successful at establishing Miriam as such because she hogs the spotlight most of the time. Sometimes I wish I had a whole other strip with which to more fully develop Sherry, Araceli, John, Clayton, etc.

Well, maybe not John. You guys only like him because you don't know anything about him.

James has developed quite a lot. He originally started out as Chuck's annoying roommate, but by now we've seen he's an unbelievably nice guy behind that cool, apathetic exterior. And, as Ari more or less pointed out, he's probably the most perceptive guy in the whole cast (except probably John, but John doesn't like interfering with others' affairs).

Interesting how his relationship with Ari is developing, too. It seems to me that he secretly hopes that Ari will fall in love with him -- yet he's well aware that she won't, and somehow doesn't really mind. I don't think it's his primary motive, even though at times he acts like it is.

He's still kind of a caustic individual but he now displays redeeming characteristics as well; I'm happy with the way he's developing.

(From 10/21 comic) Looks like it's time for me to comment again. This time it's on the subject of disaster. Oh Miriam, Greg, don't you both see that the girlfriend will eventually find out about your little online activity, and go ballistic out of jealousy? Just you watch. Besides, methinks Greg's not all that much for his honey, doing this so casually. He wants to get to know Miriam. And yeah, wasn't that how Miriam met ol' Chuck, through the Internet? We all saw how that eventually worked out, didn't we?
