First-ever CRAZY IN LOVE fan art!

Postby SKuehner on Sat Jul 08, 2006 5:37 am

Last night I was scanning some comics and our seven-year-old daughter Haley came out and handed me this. I was floored.

As you can see, she can already draw as well as me, and this gag is as strong as any I've written. :-)

I only hope that she won't be limited by my influence, because at this rate her skills should eclipse mine by Grade 3!

I like how she wrote her name all over it too, that's awesome.

Edit: Damnit. Now I want to give it a shot. I'll probably end up drawing at least one of your characters at some point this week, I suck at coming up with punchlines so I don't think I'll bother with a full comic.

Nice work, Heatherface! Thank you!

Although, I feel this is entirely too attractive to be Emily. This girl would never be vomited on. :P

That's so weird 'cuz I can't do pretty! Stephanie was supposed to be pretty, originally... And she was even uglier then!

I actually think they're all pretty, it's sorta hard to make drawings ugly when you don't add a ton of detail. As for Emily and Bess, I figure the stench coming from the two of them is what really makes people puke. lol.

I'm not sure if it was the stench, the nasty pick up lines, or the fact that they were ugly, but they were supposed to be ugly. Beautiful people have no problem picking up at the bar.

Gather 'round now, and let's all listen to my beautiful wife's stories of how easy it used to be for her to pick up!

It was easy at least once...and it's not my fault if guys are gullible, especially when they've been drinking.

You better watch it mister or you're gonna get it...

It was easy at least once?!? I'll have to hear the story, 'cuz surely you don't mean to imply that YOU picked ME up.

I certainly remember that space in time... And it sure didn't go like that. As I recall, I the novice picked you up in record time.

Whatever.... I remember distinctly having to drop a lot of hints before you'd even ask for my phone number, and I DID kiss you FIRST!

Alright alright, we're getting a wee bit off-topic here! And that's NOT ALLOWED on a Keenspot forum!

Back to the matter at hand... Here are two more drawings from the kid.

How long did it take the little one to learn how to spell your last name? :P

I taught Haley to Write her first and last name when she was about four, so if she got lost they could find us, because Kuehner doesn't look like Keener.

I was able to spell my name at that age too, but my last name's only 4 letters. I had a harder time getting used to the A in my first name. I could spell a whole lot of things, but forget trying to teach me about the silent letter in my first name.

Everyone else seems to have a problem with my name. I noticed it with a few of my friends, both when I was younger and even now. Haley has this problem too. People always want to add extra A's to my name. Amanada.

I've just had trouble with people actually remembering mine, I've been called all sorts of H names. Hilary, your daughter's name, Hester by my English teacher while we were reading The Scarlet Letter...

Yeah, I used to get Andrea, Angela, and Anna. You know what this proves, right Heather? That people are generally, dumb. Yup. Dumb. We just need to accept it...

Oh, definitely, I never doubted it. It's one thing to misspell an easy name, but to completely get it wrong? Yeesh.
