"Mooners?"

If parody has a name, it must be... Zortic! ('cause, let's face it, what's Mel Brooks done lately?)

"Mooners?"

Postby Murray M. Lee on Mon Oct 09, 2006 7:10 am

Mark, it may be a while before you hear the "end" of it.

So what's on the menu in place of chicken wings?

What kinds of sports will the roughnecks be watching on the holo-vision sets?

How many gooses from amourous customers will Zoie take before she looses it? ;)

That Mooners joke was the bottom of the jokes pit. I'm sure this will make Zortic and Zoie the butt of the whole galaxy.
Will they have to go out through the rear door now?
Will they cook some nice buns for dinner?
This will be something hard to left behind of them.

Oh, and Zoie just forgot to address that guy properly. She should have said:
Oh, MY GOD!....WOOOOF!
The sound of rolling dice
To me is music in the air!
'Cause I'm a gamblin' Boogie Man
Although I don't play fair!

How far did you have to bend over for that one?

(However, any post with a Young Frankenstein quote is a good post in my book!)

Well... at the pace Zortic and Zoie are going, we'll never hear her singing:
"Aaaaaaaaaaaah! Sweet mistery of life! At last I know you!"

Those are "Moonies" not "Mooners". "Mooners" tend to be a bit more "Next Generation" where "Moonies" lean toward the original series.

Whoa! Zoie is such a drama queen! Somebody should ask her to cast in a Soap opera or an infommercial.

I thought this started as some kind of Big Brother, but it's getting closer to a Temptation Island spoof. No wonder why you didn't do Survivor one...

I wonder what's the deal with the gas in this strip. Is Mark planning on to do Zortic and Zoie talk funny, like Alvin and the Chipmunks? I wonder what doing that will do to increase the ratings.... :-?

While I like the Alvin and the Chipmunks theory (and great television even if it would be a little hard to show in a comic), you're actually a bit closer with your "Temptation Island" comparison.

In hind sight I should have worked in some R&B tunes and titled it "Temptations Island".

It took me a second look but that comment was:

On the same theme, perhaps you could have turn this show into "Big Brother Soul".

Alas, "Survivor" would be out of the same topic and would require to put an Eye of the Tiger on those rockers. Besides, who likes to see Realityt shows based on One hit Wonders.

About Oct-30 strip, I think you missed a little with the speech baloons aim, since it looks like it's stuff that would be said by Zoie, yet, in the 3rd panel, the baloon points to Splink, in the 3rd panel, it points to Mark Markson. :-?

Yeah, but what's a reality show without a few of the words you can't say on TV?

If not for the "Oh yeah!" I'd almost think it was Zortic trying to get the girl to stop :) ... or it could be the girl's voice we're hearing.

Off-Topic (I can move/delete this if you want--I just didn't want to make a new thread):

Also, is there hope for an eventual Snarking of Zortic? It's been on Eric Burns' "Recommended" list for a while now, and recently got what could be considered a special mention in recent Administrative Notes. "Recent" meaning back in April, but you take what you can get, right? ;) But the comic definitely seems to have left a good impression!

Websnark wrote:3.2. At the very least, Zortic has been deserving one of the infamous "submitted without content" posts for the inclusion of the Websnark "You Had Me And You Lost Me: GPF" snark in the Da Rlingtin Code storyline. Another victim of rampant, foolish theatrics, I suppose.

3.2.1. Zortic has been overdue for mention in general.

3.2.2. Hot red haired pirate mother. For the record.

I'm not entirely sure what that first paragraph means, but I'm hoping it's relatively good. :nervous:

Thanks ShardZ,

I will say that it's definately Zortic's voice that they're hearing. Hopefully next week will prove VERY interesting.

As for the Snarking, I'd love it. I'm a fan of Websnark and I think Eric has some great ideas and perceptions. But on the other hand, the fact that Eric hasn't found anything about Zortic to complain about can also be seen as possitive. :)

As for Eric's point number 3.2, in the Zortic story "The DaRlington Code", one of Eric's Snarks provided a clue to a hidden message within the comic GPF. Eric tends to acknowledge such content and that's what he's referring too.

Zoie Kapowie! OWIE!!

Of course violence never solves anything, but it's a great way of working off some frustration. Hmm, guess that means it does solve something after all.

Saw something in the newspaper in which game shows are getting a second look by producers. Although they don't have the highest ratings, they're less likely to be "Tivoed."

So maybe this guy will soon be leaving Zortic alone.
