Discuss today's comic: The Saga Continues

Being a serious Zelda fan, (I'll take a digital picture of my tattoo later, until then here is some semi-solid evidence- screenshots from a fangame of mine and filler comics from when The Minish Cap came out.) I was excited to see that Link was in today's comic. Then, I was less then excited. Then... Ewwwww. You! Do some decent Zelda comics! :grumble:

Evidence of fanboyism:

(This was waaay back, near the beginning of the series)

(Shameless promotion of Zelda: Tide? Don't be silly! It's sprawling landscapes and innovative weaponry won't be ready for quite some time!)

Hmmm I hope you're not a big Thundercats fan... (you might see on monday) :D For some reason a lot of my jokes have been sexual based lately... I'll probably do a proper Zelda strip when Twilight Princess comes out.... and whatever crazy function the revolution controller will be used for.

Hmm... Hope you don't add characters for comical relief to try to get higher ratings, Snneaarrfer.

(For those of you who don't know, Snarfer if Snarf's nephew. I lost all respect for the Thundercats when he was introduced.)

Hey I love Zelda and I found that comic Hilarious! I knew something about Majora sounded weird to me!

And What's with Alec? I thought he was crazy when he crushed those nuts in front of Barrett and now I think he's even more crazy for playing things most girls would play!

....LABIA MAJORA!! Holy... I totally didn't get that joke until just now! ^^;

About Alec... That's the joke! He's the big, tough, burly corporate overlord, with a deep dark (teehee! lookit my new tamagochi!!) secret.

I thought it would be fun to give most of the characters little quirks, the only character I haven't really figured out yet is Tory. So far she's just been "the hot chick" oh and she knows how to manipulate men... still needs more quirk. :)

Oh and Chris gave his blessing to Monday"s comic... so I'll just say this... NOT WORK SAFE. :D

Maybe she's a sock puppet in disguise... Or a dog person! (That is, a person who likes dogs. O_o) Maybe she's a closet DDR fan, and has insanely muscular legs? Oh! I know! She is, in fact, TOTALLY into quantom physics!

She's a red-head with green eyes. That's pretty quirky itself (pretty rare, at least).

There's only one thing to say about today's comic: Thundercats are loose!

Quite honestly, from your build-up of it, I had expected more.

like the comic, look forward to more, and keep them coming.

Thanks irendi, the comic runs M/W/F rain or shine.... well there was the one time Chris had that freak snow storm... but other than that we're on time. :D

Even though the Cheetara nipples really didn't cause that much of a stir (the Ed Elric cameo I did before even got more of a reaction)... it seems it did snag some new readers.

It seems the whole... "make Marceline the most evil boss ever" approach is working well also.... LOL.

Todays comic made me laugh, I used to work bowling alley and there was this chick that acted just like Tory. I remember a day when this new guy was being really friendly and trying to help this girl out and the same situation happened. This just brought back very funny memories. thanx =]

I'm still getting over the whole "six nipples" thing.

Oh, great. Now every time I go to my local Das Game Store, I'm going to be looking for that game.

Just make sure to ask for Charlie un de Schokoladen-Fabrik. :D I didn't put in the German name since I figured it would just confuse readers...

... and speaking of readers, welcome to all the new traffic that's coming in from our new advertising. ;)

I always loved the Mario Kart games, but I'm not too sure what this "snaking" is...?
Or is it something that's pretty common and one just wouldn't realize it...?

PostPosted: Thu Jan 19, 2006 2:22 am

Snaking is an exploitation of the game's physics... It allows the player MAJORLY increase their speed on straitaways. Below is a chart showing how snaking works. Read it from the bottom to the top.

|-----------O---| <--- You mini turbo again, then drift the
|-----------O---| other way again, forming a snakelike
|-----------O---| pattern while moving extremely quickly.
|-----------/----| This is repeated for the whole
|----------/-----| straightaway.
|--------/-------| <--- You move to the other side, and drift
|-------/--------| the other way
|--O------------| <--- You perform the boost, greatly
|--O------------| increasing your speed
|-----\----------| <--- You drift to the right, and begin doing a
|------\---------| mini-turbo
|--------|-------| <--- You come in to the straightaway and
|--------|-------| begin to turn left

Couldn't have said it better myself. :) Snaking has been possible in the other Mario Kart games but it's particularly easy to abuse in Mario Kart DS... just play online against someone who has zero losses and see for yourself.

So true. I've never played it online (no broadband in my area x_x) but MKDS literally has built-in functions to help you learn to use powerslides and all the other little goodies that fans discovered way back when.

Ah. That stuff I knew about. I figured the "snaking" was some built-in cheat or something, the way it was being talked about. Well, in a way, it is, but...
Bah, you know what I mean (I hope).
