Ah, the Super Bowl. I was kind of expecting something about the Rondo of Blood port for the PSP. Something with Moru. It's ABOUT DAMN TIME we got some Rondo love.

We seriously need a release of Policenauts. It'd be a great title for the PSP, I suppose. And a re-release of Snatcher. No one played Snatcher.

After the Rondo announcement, my faith in the powers that be. Even if it won't be ready until September, it already looks great. I was kinda worried that they'd botch a 3D remake, but even if they do, the original is still there. And the 3D version looks really good too, so everybody wins.

And it includes a touched up version of Symphony. How could you go wrong?

:-)

I guess it would take an oblivious idiot to actually like that damn paper clip... :D

Oh so helpful, or, oh so insidious, you be the judge.

And now we know how Barret keeps coming back to life every time Marceline kills him.

Well I still don't know why.... I just thought Game genie granted him infinite lives....

But then I know why Barrett is bald, because at first I thought it was because Kraig burned his hair way back when... but I realise he does it because it's one less thing to worry about when Marcy *ahem* Marceline attacks him... WAIT! What would happen if anyone called her Marcy?!

Anyway... about today's comic.... only people I can't recognize is who Barret, Alec and Tori is dressed up as... Alec sorta reminds me of Charlie but... I remember Charlie has a orange coat dattebayo.

Barret is Craig Marduk from Tekken 5
Kraig is Dan from Street Fighter Alpha
Alec is Clark from KIng of Fighters
Marceline's sister (i forgot her name :-| ) is Cammy, also from SFA.
Broderick is Cyrax, from Mortal Kombat.
Marceline is Taki from Soul Calibur
Moru is Gouki from Street Fighter 2.
and.... i can't figure out who Tori is dressed up as....

Aside from the fact Gouki wasn't in Street Fighter 2, you're still wrong. He's Akuma, not Gouki.

Getting that one critical mistake automatically voids all fan points you accumulated by getting everyone else correct. Shame, shame.

Very good eyes! yeah Tory doesn't really give up much clues... but her shoulder at least is B. Orchid from Killer Instinct... would have been more obvious if I threw in a ton fa.

Kraig as Dan Hibiki and Moru as Akuma? WIN.

Oh, and Otaku Son, Gouki/Akuma WAS in Super Street Fighter II Turbo as a hidden boss. He was the guy who killed M. Bison off, replacing of the EGM April Fools Joke "Sheng Long", and becoming even more legendary as a fighting game character.

Oh, and Dan rocks. OYJAI!

as Cronosonic said, Gouki (Akuma for American Fans) first appeareance was in the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo (in japan, Super Street Fighter II X - Grand Master Challenge).

In this version, if you reached the last boss without using any continues, Gouki would come out of nowhere, Kill Vega(M. Bison) with the move that would be known later as Shun Goku Satsu and challenge you. there were also a code to be input on the select screen that allowed you to play as him. if you did the same thing (reaching the final boss without any continues) using Gouki, you would face a stronger version of Gouki, that became known as Shin Gouki.

and you surelly noticed that, the specific Gi color Moru is using is from his SSF2T version. you can confirm it in here:
http://www.zytor.com/~johannax/jigsaw/sf/gouki.html

and, altough i also agree that Akuma and Gouki are rather different characters (due to the fact that Capcom USA F#### up the SF storyline when translating the game), this is more a matter of personal opinion.

on a side note: you might be mistaken him by his brother Gouken, who is Ryu and Ken's Master. Gouken never appeared on any Street Fighter game, with the exception of Gouki's SFZ1 ending, where Goutetsu, Gouki and Gouken's master, also appears.

@ Otaku Son - Gouki and Akuma are the same character. Just like M.Bison(USA) and Vega(Japan).

What? I thought Gouki was Ken and Ryu's master, Akuma's brother.

In any event, this comic is for American audiences, and so American names should be used for describing characters. No one in America calls M. Bison "Vega," or Vega "Balrog" and Balrog "M. Bison." Likewise, no one calls Dragon Warrior through VII "Dragon Quest." So to keep confusion to a minimum, use American names.

You're thinking of Gouken, and Gouken and Akuma's master was Goutetsu. For the record... Moru is the X-men: Children of the Atom version of Akuma. ;)

with that impressive display of Satsui no Hadou habilities, i guess we can guess who Moru's father is.

One question remains: how did marceline get him out of his trainning routine!?

now, lets wait for the Mother Vs Son fight!
