Too much Plexi. It takes away its coolness.

No way, Plexi (uh oh, you done named the coffee machine) is the coolest! We need a hack-and-slash Plexi platformer!

By the way, that's that around Moru's neck? I suppose it looks somewhat like a Neo Geo Pocket... though I don't remember anything with a button configuration like that.

It's a stopwatch. Moru is dressed like AI (picture here http://www.snkplaymore.jp/official/nbc/ ... er/ai.html) from the game NeoGeo Battle Coliseum which you know is what the comic is making reference too.

Oh! Okay then. I was wondering why he was lacking his normal Pac-themed shirt. ^^;

edit: For the record, the bear *is* supposed to be Yuki, King (queen?) of Evil, right?

For the record, yes the bear is themed after Yuki.... it seemed to match since I was doing an Ai theme for Moru.... it's not easy thinking up of new hats for every Moru strip. :P

....I-... Is that Barrett? He looked cool back then.
So did Kraig, but he wasn't really cooler.

What game are they playing in 2006, though? The comic's a bit unclear about that.. (I'm too much of a Nintendo fanboy to get some of these comics. :P)

You can conclude that it's another Final Fight game, and it's a pile of ass. Good enough, eh?

On another note, I found the original Final Fight (SNES) in a Pawn shop a couple days ago for three bucks! Feel free to express your envy towards me. :D

The game I'm ribbing is Final Fight: Streetwise... it's the new GTA style Final Fight game developed by none other than Capcom USA. You play as Cody's little brother Kyle... well play in a very loose sense.... let's just say Capcom USA should just stick to the Maximo games.

:o Ahhh..I don't understand today's comic. I've been so out of touch with the gaming industry. I need to recap my brain on some games when I have time. :shifty:
Dude, Richardo in class noticed the attendance sheet and your name has alot of slashes next to it. Eh, well I hope the cosmic luck is on your side when it comes down to the project.

Heheheh! I'd so buy one of those Metroids.
Even if it -was- made by a killer coffee machine company.

Heheheh, love the new comic. XD

Super Princess Peach isn't out yet in Europe, but I heard a lot about how sexist the game is.

It's only sexist if you're going out of your way to look at it like that. The game's target audience is, obviously, twelve-year-old Japanese girls. Think of it like this: it's not so much a portrayal of a typical woman as it is a portrayal of a typical magical princess with a magical umbrella in a magical kingdom where mushrooms are widely considered a higher form of life. (and magical!)

I mean, come on, the Marioverse isn't supposed to be taken so seriously. "There goes Peach, your typical over-emotional woman. There go Mario and Luigi, your typical plumbers who travel by warp pipe. There goes Koopa, your typical evil turtle overlord."

...By the way, what's the deal with the faces/heads in today's comic? No offense, but they seem a bit... off. O_o

My only question is why does Marce have the calm heart next to her when she is happy that she knocked out barret and should probably have the joy heart there. Just saying

Yeah I noticed the snaffu after it was too late... I got the green calm and the yellow happiness mixed up... but the comic still makes sense... pretty much. I've been super busy lately so the artwork has been rather rushed... which yeah like people have noticed the characters seem a little off.... once I get a little more stable the comic should stablize as well.

In the first panel, Tory looks like of like a foam costume character of herself. You know, like this:
