The who is Bobby Orogon thread

Postby Shiroi Kaze on Mon Nov 14, 2005 9:14 am

Bobby Orogon is a former K1 fighter who is a celebrity in Japan... but his whole act is a really offensive "Uncle Tom" act... which of course is very popular in Japan... and due to some strange force of nature... he's making his way into the latest chapter of Power Instinct...

Ryan's in the corner, the corner, the corner, Ryan's in the corner, PIMPIN' DA GOD MODE.

Isn't it amazing how confused gamers get when trying to tell the difference between Dragon Quest and Dragon Warrior? I could just sit there watching them try to figure it out for hours. It's like a train wreck- it's horrible, and you know you should feel guilty, but you just can't look away.

...Yeah, I should probably fix my signiture. Awayyyy!

It's just weird... it would be like Capcom just changing Darkstalkers to Vampire or Street Fighter Alpha to Street Fighter Zero. It might have been less strange if they had only just released Dragon Warrior back in the nes days... but Dragon Warrior VII hit the PSX here... so to go back to Dragon Quest now doesn't make sense. It's still a great game though, I've never been too keen on the battle system in the DW games, but I'm liking the battle animations this go around.... makes me itch for a full 3D Chrono Trigger.

oh yeah and that is me hiding in the corner... but I lied... God Mode isn't funny and popular in Japan either. :P

::Begins singing "Big In Japan" a cappella::

I've always been a big RPG player. Believe it or not, I've always preferred Phantasy Star and Dragon Warrior to Final Fantasy. The only Final Fantasy game I've spent over one hundred hours on is FFTA... I've clocked a bit over seventy hours on each file. ^_^

I was a huge RPG fan during the SNES days. PS1/PS2 rpgs didn't all catch my fancy. FF7 was kinda an exception, everyone loves FF7 =3. But I still say 6 was deeper / better. I want to play Magna Carta. It looks good! People tell me the shin megumi tensei series is good too.

Shin megami tensei's good... but unforgivingly hard. I had Nocturne, and I have to say that it is the most brutally hard rpg I've ever played. Maybe I'm just used to shadow hearts *shrug*. I still find it kind of funny that the only ones to make it out here are the dark/violent ones. All of the other games, going back to the NES, were practically precursors to pokemon. Very very odd series. I still would like to find a copy of Digital Devil Saga somewhere.

Yeah between the comic and the end of the semester I have zero time to play RPGs... although I do still play handheld RPGs. As soon as I finish Sonic Rush, I'll probably give the new DS Mario and Luigi game a go... the GBA version of Final Fantasy 4 should be out soon too. Probably the RPG I'm looking forward to most is Mother 3/Earthbound 2.... but it's highly unlikely Nintendo will bring it out in the US... they completely ignored the Mother collection for GBA.

I honestly have no idea who the character outside the window is supposed to be. It looks like a lump of ground beef stuffed into a Kunoichi's Hood.

I don't know... Didn't look much like a coffee maker, either...
