Other comics I like to read...

Postby thePOTS on Sun Nov 06, 2005 3:15 pm

Well,

Online comics are a lot of fun, as ar print comics...of which , I read both. I just figured I'd give a heads up to the ones I read.

Online:

Eatkitties.com
Sorethumbsonline.com
superosity.com
everythingjake.com

And although I can't remember the site for it, there's another called The Last days of FOXHound about Metal Gear characters that is hysterical.

In print comics, I read a ton...so this will miss quite a few, but the ones I remember deserve my highest recommendation.

7 Days to Fame by Buddy Scalera
Midnight Kiss by Ryan Stegman
Wolverine has been fun recently
All spidey titles, and most Batman and Superman titles
Love Clayton Crain's Ghost Rider
Anything by Frank Miller
and I gotta say, if you don't have "THE FANCY PANTS EDITION" of GOON, you guys are crazy...that book is awesome
I've been picking up all the DC Absolute Editions (with Crisis being my next one)

So come on, folks, tell everyone what you are reading...its fun
Take Care,

Webcomics and reading

Postby HiFranc on Sun Nov 06, 2005 10:09 pm

I'll take the lazy way out and say that the webcomics I read are listed in my sig. Coincidently, they're all KeenSpot ones.

On the book front I'm between books (more to the point I can't find a book that interests me) but I can recommend the following:
The Soprano Sorceress by L.E. Modesitt Jr.
Raymond E. Feist's books (they're more understandable if you read them in order -- 1st book is Magician). The best ones are the ones he did with Janny Wurts.
One Hit Wonder by Lisa Jewell
Mort
and Feet of Clay both by Terry Pratchett
Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C Clarke
Timeline by Michael Crichton
Prowlers by Christopher Golden
Nimisha's Ship by Anne McCaffrey
Snare by Katharine Kerr
The Complete Yes Minister by Jonathan Lynn & Antony Jay
The Portable Door by Tom Holt
Francisco
I read several webcomics.

I'll do the same thing as HiFranc.
userfriendly.org
kevinandkell.com
gpf-comics.com - personally reccommend this one. Jeff's been doing it for 7 years, and can still throw us for a loop.
ubersoft.com
spamusement.com - Poorly-drawn cartoons inspired by actual spam subject lines
Joy of Tech - geekculture.com/joyoftech - the only continuity it has is that it revolves aound apple.
Landis - if you don't know where to find this one, you've got problems
El Goonish Shive - egscomics.com
Tales of the Traveling Gnome - dragon-artists.com/ttg/ttg_index.html got into this one just because of the artwork.

Books?! What are they?!

I'm in college, so textbooks, mostly. Other than that, Star Wars books, and sci-fi in general.
