I've gotta say, the third panel just cracks me up. Ceilidh, with that expression, saying that, implying that.
A lot of it is that Ceilidh's expression seems to me to be innocent and open in that one. So cute. And then... what she says.

"Hey, Ryan? Bran Van 3000 called. They want their music video back."
Every panel's a winner here, Josh! Great work! And he calls this "filler material"? Bah humbug to that. It's my favourite strip yet!
As I read it, both Alan's "Gah!" and Joe's "Hey, I'm driving here!" are directed at Ceilidh for creating the mental image. Man, I love that panel.
And I've got a nasty suspicion that Ryan and Deirdre were calling each other Egypt-related pet names... ew, ew, ew.
Oh, and speaking of "Yipes. Just yipes.", the line "One of us! One of us!" also comes from the movie Freaks -- I learned *that* from Matt Groening's commentary on the Simpsons DVD.
Oh, and about the double meaning in Joe's "pretty good mummy" comment? I really doubt he knows about Patrick, so I think it was directed at DD's future, rather than her past. Unintentionally nastier than he expected.
Finally, that fourth panel has a profound meaning for me. I remember that final night so very well. *shudder*

Heh. Honestly, I don't think Ceilidh looks "innocent" in that third frame.... I'd describe it more as "wistful".
Un petite critique, Josh: Though I knew a fair number of kids who understood the word "cognizant" in HS, I can't think of any of them who would use it in casual conversation--"aware" would have read much more naturally, I think.

I must admit, I don't get it. The whole conversation makes little sense to me. Then again, English isn't my first language.
What exactly is Joe complaining about? What went wrong during the party?

Oh, and may I make a suggestion: Put a link back to the thread's comic, so that one can easily have a look at it when a discussion keeps going on. Or maybe directly link the image in the first post...
