That's dark, with Sarah getting Ceilidh-Colured hair. So, I tried Mac-Hallesque transparency fiddling:

This is lighter, but it also looks a bit faded too. The problem is colouring over the grays, it means that producing a balanced tone is difficult.

There are various tricks to deshading Avalon strips for colouring. I would select areas of similar darkness, expanding to include the line, then adjusting the colour levels to bring the fill colour to white, then repeat.
Maybe if I get time I'll take a shot at it too.
