OK. This time Phil takes a decision. Doesn't seem it will be easy for him to carry through though. We'll see how it goes. And Alison won't do Neil the favour of retiring from the amateur shrink profession yet.

Heh! The strange numbering is gone, also on the old strip. Another one for the collection...

Oh, and lest I foget:

NEW COMIC, WHEEEE!

He probably won't like the price, for starters...

Not so sure of that anymore. Look at Phil's expression in .1. Realisation sinks in, but he doesn't have the balls to really take a decision

.2
MarkusN wrote:And Alison won't do Neil the favour of retiring from the amateur shrink profession yet.
Alison seems to notice that, judging by her doubtful glance and her offering.

.3
Phil leaves

.4
Only to notice that he's not quite up to the task without a boost.

Heh! I like Alison's quickwitted remark. Good one, Ceilidh!

We also have confirmation here that Hildegarde's does not serve alcohol. (Not in the traditional sense anyway.)

I also like the expression of wild dedication on Phil in this panel. Teeth even!

I wonder whre the scene will go from here. Clearly Phil and Alison are not done with each other yet. Still, the arc of the scene closed so fittingly with that last quip by Alison that I doubt we will see more of the conversation. A cut to the Bradley house is the next probable step, seeing how things develop there when Phil comes home. I feel a storm brewing.

.1 Yay Phil! He's not a bad man, all in all. ('Makes a decision' or 'takes a stand'; choose one :))
MarkusN wrote:Doesn't seem it will be easy for him to carry through though. We'll see how it goes.

I wouldn't expect it to be easy. He needs courage like Gar's.

MarkusN wrote:And Alison won't do Neil the favour of retiring from the amateur shrink profession yet.

.3 Alison is the professional barista, offering Phil the nearest thing to liquid fortitude that she has. Being an amateur shrink is secondary to that, so any other good barista would have done the same, whether or not she does it at school too.

WOOT!

Let's just hope that the LCBO doesn't find out that Alison is serving alcohol without a license.

I wonder if it a nice vintage, like "Brer Rabbit" vanilla extract.

Actually, I think going home smelling like alcohol is mostly going to make Sarah angrier. Phil used to have a booze problem, after all.

Well that's interesting... An American who knows about the LCBO (Liquer Control Board of Ontario for all you people who don't). Even more interesting considering you live way on the other side of the continent.

We had a pretty long conversation about this a long time ago, actually.

I almost guessed what LCBO stood for. But if Phil wants to go stupid on liquor-that-isn't, I'd advise him to go down the street to the pharmacist and get some cough mixture. It's likely to be about 60% alcohol and it contains analgesic drugs too. Pretty vile.

I swear that they reduced the amount of alcohol in stuff like NyQuil. It doesn't knock me on my butt anymore.

Although, Robatussin has that... what is it called... DMX or something?

Maybe Alison uses it to bring her down after an espresso binge?

You're supposed to take NyQuil orally.

Hey, Fool, I'd tell you to stare at the floor, but someone painted a nude on there, too...
