Well, gotta modify this a bit - you can only put one lower 1-entity in front of a higher unit. You can have CM = 900, but 800 = DCCC, not CCM :)

You are right, of course.

Also if we want to get really picky, I think 5-entities V, L and D were invented later on, and were not used in Ancient Rome.

IIRC, the 5-entities are Imperial Roman and were not present at the time of the Republic. I think it was "mandated" into existence by one of the first-century Emporers (but don't quote me on that).

Look at copyright lines on film/tv credits for 1990. For some odd reason they all used MCMXC. Surely MXM would have been much more elegant.

AFAIK, you can only go one magnitude lower. so IC won't work as 99, or XM as 900.

BTW, there's talk of another CMV, so where is it?

*edit* what, I wrote CMV in the first place. Go away. I didn't edit anything.
Stop looking at me.

Go away.

Not only is CVM close to being an ejaculatory reference, but it just doesn't make much sense. (What the hell is a Comic Video Music?)

I'd like to see it stay CMV, unless someone has a valid reason otherwise.

That didn't stop the MTV people from calling their ceremony the Video Music Awards (as opposed to Video and Music awards).
But then again, MTV is getting more and more retarded as of late...

Oooh.... oh ho ho... that's what the joking was about. I totally missed it. Ummm... thanks for pointing that out.

Not sure if it really makes me like CVM less.

I believe he's talking about the fact that I have, on one or two occassions, mentioned that I had ideas for other CMVs I wanted to do ...

As for where they are ... be patient ... I have school & pure laziness to contend with here :p

Rest assured, however, they WILL be done. (Though there is one or two I won't be able to do until AFTER the comic ends because I want to do them as kind of a "send off"/graduation thing)

I also have one one in the works, or did until my computer blew up last week, requiring me to use my five-year-old machine from storage to forum-surf and read email. When I've repaired my machine, I'll get back to work on it (the data's still intact, the mobo fried itself).

You sure have bad luck with your hardware. Please never come near one of my machines. ;)

I know. Over four years I've had three motherboards, one hard drive, two NICs, a power supply, a DVD drive (my fault; bad flash), and two standalone DVD players die on me. Every time, my brother had been near it, so I'm not sure if it's me, him, or the combination of both of us. :-?

In case it is me, though, I'll stay far away from your machines (not too hard, given there's the Atlantic Ocean serving as a natural boundary). :D

Do you have all the cells cut out, or are you just cutting the ones you intend to use for the video? I ask because I am currently working on getting the entire archive cut into individual cells. I have one person helping me, but its still going to take a while to get done (Its very tedius work and I can only stand to do 7 or 8 at a time often)

If you (or anyone else) is inerested in helping out, contact me via ICQ, MSN or AIM
