I really need to know what is going to happen to these characters, and I don't think you should start something if you're not going to finish it in a schedule that fits what I expect. I mean, look at all the fame this gig is getting you, and you just treat all your fans like big nobodys with nothing better to do than sit around and compain about how you haven't updated 280 in, like, forever. So get with it, man.

I'm odd, I know. Sorry. Need sleep.

Two-Eighty is a weekly comic. Hence, it only comes out once a week.

I don't care about 280, personally.

But I do want to see Avalon finished.
I quite understand that Josh has Real Life to deal with, but there is an unfinished comic sitting out there that it would be really nice to have finished.

Personally, if Josh finished it offline and sold the entire comic+finish in paper form, I would buy it at standard comic books prices. Whether professionally bound like Megatokyo or not, mind you.
I think it is that good, and that worth finishing. :)

How about do what Angels 2200 does, and have guest artists do the comic?

But that's only once in a while, and it wouldn't be right if a guest artist finished Avalon. Well, unless he can draw in the same style as Josh and doesn't sign the comics, so we don't notice the change :)

You're suggesting someone bribe David Willis to finish things up?

I'd like that, but I think we'd notice if Willis took over (Y'know, all of a sudden there's transforming cars, Allison gets the lead role, people start dying...) :)

I think... I think I would like to see the end of Avalon put into comic format, preferably by someone with a style similar to Joe's. I think DW is the best person for the job, if he'd be willing to do so.

Even if the end has already been posted, I'd like to see it drawn up.

I've been considering doing some of the scenes from the ending in comic form -- should I ever have the time to do so. I don't have the skills to draw the whole thing up as comics, though.

if it is over I would like to know...

and it appears it is...

Just say so and move on...

Um, Einstein?

Check the Avalon main page, as well as the many threads here about it.

It's over.
He's got a text summary of the end of the story.

He said so, and now he has moved on.

I always get irritated with artists who do this. I understand that I don't have a real reason for feeling this way: it's their creation and their life. But at the same time, they put it out there with the hopes of our becoming attached to the comic and the characters and the story, and to suddenly say "What? Oh, that. I don't care about that anymore," is incredibly inconsiderate to all the people who supported and followed the artist. Not that he cares. That's the whole point I suppose. I guess it's better that he's finally just called it quits instead of stringing us along for another year or so, but the whole thing is horribly unsatisfying no matter how you break it down. *shrugs* C'est la vie.

This is more of a general commentary and not (I repeat NOT) a personal attack.

Out of curiosity, why hasn't Keenspot moved Avalon & it's forum to the Abandoned/Ended/Canceled Comics section?

Keenspot moves both generally slowly and unpredictably with matters such as these. There are at least three other comics on the drop-down that are as dead as Avalon, and they sit there too. (LWIBH and Limited Space and Lizard, all in a row.)

Bummer. Avalon has officially "Passed On". Glad we got at least a short synopsys of the ending, even if it was just in text.

Hmn, whadduya suppose the proper bribe is for this kind of thing? I'd be willing to pitch in :-) It's DW's fault that I ever found Avalon, in a roundabout kind of way, because DW's Roomies introduced me to the wonder of webcomics, and Avalon was a natural comic to pick up, since I liked Roomies so much. So there would be some poetry, I think, if DW drew the remainer of Avalon. And now that I've had time for things to settle in my head and for me to re-read everything and re-read the conclusion, it is much more satisfying than it was at first, to me.

Well, some things Josh recently said indicate a glimmer of hope that he'll return some day, and Willis said he'd do it his way, so I'd say it would be better if we waited a bit before giving everybody over to Willis for the execution... :)

And he has...maybe...don't want to jinx it...one strip is not a full-scale return...let's just step back and try not to breathe too hard... :shifty:

More than one strip. MORE THAN ONE STRIP.

Josh: Welcome back, man. It'll be good to see the end, and I hope this means you'll have something AFTER the end, too. I still remember you talking about other projects you had in mind.

It's been too, too long. Any chance of this being mentioned in the Box? I'm assuming a fair few readers who've dropped off the Avalon habit are still Keenspotters, after all.
