Yay! New comic!

Yay! Lots of new comic!

Yay! Pi!

Did anyone else notice Pi?

P.S. Another gleaming gem from the Pit of Insanity known as GerbilMechs. Whoo!

P.P.S. Sorry if I'm horribly triple posting or something like that. My browser refuses to move on to the submission page....[/url]

This comic is from last Monday, 22/9. Keenspot's comic host server has been very naughty over the weekend.

Yeah, it's good to have them back fairly regular. :)

I have to admit, it was long enough a wait that I had to go back and reread everything to get back into it -- not that it's a bad thing. :)

[OT?] Uh, wasn't there a book?

Postby mhwood on Wed Dec 31, 2003 7:38 am

I'm sure I saw one in the sidebar, long ago, but idiot me didn't buy it then. Are they all gone? did I just dream the whole thing?

Would like to buy something by way of thanks/encouragement, but I don't wear that sort of wearables and my mug rack is full. (Plus I like the strips, of course, and would like to reread them in a more convenient medium.)

Not as graphic as something Tenma would draw, but certainly suggestive of something...new art in the smut thread.

There was a book, waaaaay back, but Josh wasn't too lucky with the publisher. From what I heard the books were of real poor quality (greenish print, uneven collection of pages, empty pages, poor binding). So right now to my knowledge nothng is available.

Hey, you could always make an unconditional donation ;)

The delays, the delays.

Postby adder on Tue Jan 06, 2004 5:25 pm

lets see now. its the sixth today. the last posted comic was on the fifteenth of december. Which means that thirty-two days have elapsed since the last post. And if this comic is supposed to end in august, then this comic should end in a few years.
i'm not sure I have the patience to wait that long.

Not only are you pessimistic, but your math sucks.

I understand the viewpoint of impatience.

I'm doing my best to be patient, I really am...
But I can only wait so long before daily checking becomes every-third-day, becomes weekly, becomes... wait, I wonder if that comic ever got updated again? (goes to check Reset.)

Josh, please? Please, new comic? Pretty please?

I don't bother checking the comic unless there's been an update already for the week. I just check the forums for the inevitable thread.

Josh is a busy guy and Avalon is, when it boils down to it, a hobby. It might be a hobby he feels a lot of affection for and wants to complete very badly, but it's a hobby nonetheless. The guy has his own life to live and lead.

If you don't want to check daily, then don't. There are many other web comics to read in the mean time. I try to check about once a month. I really like Avalon, the story is good, and all you have to do is look back into the archives to see it's worth the wait. I believe it'll get done eventually.

It's a free comic. I always hate it when people complain about a lack of updates on something they're getting for free. If you get so upset about a web comic, maybe you need to reevaluate some things.

Who cares about his life, we want the comic!

j/k, of course. While it would be nice if Avalon updated every day, or at least on a regular schedule, it is by no means a requirement. After all, we're still here, aren't we?
Besides, it's only going to be here for a few more months, and after going on for all those years it would be stupid to miss the final chapter. Kinda like leaving the movie 10 minutes from the end.

So let's just sit back, wait for an update (and check the myriad other great comics out there), and enjoy it when it comes.

Is this anything like relativity?

You know, an eternity with a pretty girl feels like five minutes, but five minutes sitting on a hot stove feels like eternity?

Cuz, y'know, if it is, and Josh has managed to take the second scenario, but switch the stove and the pretty girl...he could make a fortune.

I don't really know what you just said, but I think I prefer the "eternity with a pretty girl" option... :)
If I got it correctly, I think it would be better to take the first option and switch five minutes with eternity... now that would be something.
Although, your version is much more profitable, as you can sell many five-minutes trips in an hour, but not a lot of eternity-trips...

I hope you weren't aiming that at me...

I'm not angry at Josh. Never was, never will be... well, unless he stops Avalon without finishing it. And I'm not complaining (at least I'm trying to not complain) about the sporadic updates. I'm not getting upset about a web comic, never you fear.

Avalon is one of the better webcomics around, and while I will miss it when it's gone, I want to enjoy it while it lasts!

Also, I'm kind of curious as to Josh's comic-making plans post-Avalon. Assuming there are any. . . . .
