(No, I'm pretty sure I've got the most thread kills, if you take the Gigafreak name into account before I broke it.)

Okay... Lessee. Josh, if I remember correctly, has to put up with
Work,
School,
Aforementioned marriage preparations,
And has still to put out the comic.

Let's compare him to another cartoonist.

Pete Abrams makes his living off his comic, is not in school, and is already married. Therefore he has significantly less of a workload than Josh has, since work, school and marriage no longer apply. He also has a child to take care of, but then that still doesn't reach the same level of stress Josh is under.
Pete still occaisionally can't keep up with his comic when disasters or cons roll around, and has filler strips and delays even now.

So I'd say Josh is doing a damn good job still getting around to his comic through the insanity he's putting up with.

End on-topicness.

There was no GAS this week. I was wondering... Did we run out of contributions?

Later...

(Yes, I should by all means get cracking on my own GAS strip.)

Well, I've got my one here, so Josh must be behind on the e-mail as well.

This is rather off-topic, but I just found it amusing how "is already married" = "marriage no longer applies."

And as for children... all I'm gonna say about that is that one kid can be more problematic than a lot of things.

To the meat of your post, good point. Even the pros have the occasional break in action.

I'd just like to say that much as hengist seems to think we're going to, for some reason, lose interest, I've been here since the 200th strip went up and I still check the site regularly and enjoy each new comic that arrives. If the story takes some time in order to ensure that it is told well, and that the artist is not harmed by the telling, I have no issues with that. It wouldn't do justice to Avalon to have it done any other way!

(And there are plenty of book series out there that span many years, with easily a years delay between books, yet they seem to maintain readers just fine.)

Oh, I'd just assumed he'd got the words 'wedding' and 'marriage' mixed up. Because Pete is already married, he doesn't have to agonise over an upcoming wedding, see :)

Congratulations to you and your bride-to-be, Josh. Have fun, and go somewhere warm and sunny for your honeymoon. (Canada is all tundra, isn't it? :) )

Well, they've got lovely forest fires to warm themselves on now too.

I don't think they'll be needing fires to warm themselves up.

After all, they have eachother.
