Well, damn.
I was hoping that wasn't the case. She seemed too sweet and innocent to be shacking up with an ass like Mr. Page has been made out to be.
Ech.

Maybe it's my medication, but . . .
At the first glance (JUST the first glance) of the 3rd panel, I thought it was Joe who had walked in, and was about to comment about his "new momma" coming back.
I'm glad others on the forum figured out what was going on -- with Hilde's hair mostly being hidden off-screen, and the coat zipped up Joe-style . . . and Erin kinda looks like Joe anyway . . . .
Hover buttons, Josh. The future is in hover buttons . . . . Or at least bosoms....
------------------

Yeah, Starship Troopers is a great book. Put some Power Armor on Hildy and she can pretend that Erin is a "Skinny".
Cholma

"Duh Duh Duh!" *crescendo of ominous music*
So that means we should break out the mudpit and sit back and watch the catfight hey?
I'D be afraid of Mrs. Page!
It was nice of Alison to signal to Erin that this was his wife by calling her Mrs. Page.....otherwise she might just naively go, "Oh, you DO know my lost love?!! Do you know where he is??" Which would ultimately cause her to lose more limbs than she would otherwise.
Nice work Josh, I'm ever so curious to see what is going to happen next.
My only wonder about Erin is that she looks so innocent she almost looks Alison's age. But then again, if she's in her 20's there's a point there where you just start to confuse people with how old you really are. I know that happens to me often; I get "aren't you in high school?" all the way up to "you aren't married with kids yet?" But often alot of these questions are put forth by the kids I work with.....and they have a hard time imagining that anyone is older than 18....because you know THAT is ancient, and if you are that ancient you must be an adult who is working on that adult thing of being married and having kids. Perspectives certainly change when you get older.
And NO! I am not working on getting married or having kids! I'm only 22 for God's sake! I already know too many people that are, which is weird.
Right. sorry for going off topic. But it would be interesting to find out Erin's age as well......to see if he left Mrs. Page for a younger woman. Even creepier will be to wonder whether or not James Page will randomly show up after the girls have had their heart to heart, so to speak. If Mrs. Page leaves all her limbs intact, I think Erin seems like the kind of girl who will be shocked and dismayed to learn that he left a woman with a kid (see, the kid part is hard to not feel bad about) to be with her. So then, if he does randomly show up they both might try to tear him apart. Woohoo free for all!
*smiles and waves to all and goes back to the land of homework*
Harlenna

Heh... The expression on Erin's face seems to imply that she doesn't know just how much trouble she's in right now... Only looks like a 'who the devil is this?' type of look to me.
I never thought I would say these words in this particular order, but: I can't wait until Monday.

Mr. Page was in "10 Things I Hate About You"??
------------------

Argh! The whole Avalon world is going to come crumbling down! Or something...
Anyway, I wonder what Joe'll say when he finds out...
Hmmm, I think Erin is probably quite young, or at least was when Mr. Page ran off to live with her. After all, Mrs. Page did call her his "pretty little girlfriend", although she might've just been guessing that he left her for a younger, prettier woman. My guess would be that Erin is the innocent in all this, although I wouldn't bet money on it what with all the twistiness around here...
---

Okay, the new character being female makes the "normal coffee bar" comment make a great deal more sense.
But, today's strip was a hell of a lot funnier (and potentially more interesting down the road) when I thought it was a guy.

Looks like all my myriad theories were wrong then. The pretty young thing is going to get ripped apart by Joe Mama.
But y'know, that's not what worries me......
THIS is what worries me:

quote:
Originally posted by Josh Phillips:

I've been known to read people's missives wrongly before, but it appears Sir Josh has dropped a whopping hint - and this all looks rather ominous.
It seems Erin's here to stay - and we may find that Alison's got a significant part to play in the whole thing.
