Do you have to be a member of Keenspot to get the CGI that creates archives for your comic strip? I've searched the net from one corner to the other in search of a script or help on getting an archive, but have come up empty(save for the Javascript one I use for Carcraft that's similar to Eight's script). I think it would help a lot of people with CGI-enabled web hosters to make the scripts public domain.. it wears people like me down to stay up till 1 AM writing HTML code to finish updating my comic strip.
================

As such, I've decided to write a "Keenspot Lite" CGI program that will allow anyone with a host that allows CGI programs to update their strips automatically. It won't have many features, only "First", "Back", "Next" and "Today" buttons (and the date of the strip), but it'll get the job done.
------------------

No, there probably won't be a calendar. And the files would have to be on the same host as the cgi. I'll think about providing a work-around for this. I might make it where you could provide a text file of a listing of your comics files instead of the files themselves.
------------------

Good. That would be very helpful.
One thing that some comics use is a pull-down menu that can switch between storylines. Since my comic is serial and has continuous plot, it would be beneficial to have this menu. Would you please consider having a menu in the CGI? You can keep the calendar out, and I wouldn't mind if I had to put some sort of Keenspot logo on the page if it was required.
Final question for now, any details on a estimated date when this might be completed? Will it be released and tweaked from time to time? Only checking. I don't know much of CGI but it's guys like Gav here that make a cartoonist's existance on the web so much more fulfilling.
=============

That rules supremely. But I guess the calendar isn't included?
Will this update the entire site or just the archives? Cause my main site is on a non-cgi provider and my archives are on hypermart(which does support CGI). Would I have to move my whole operation to a CGI server or can I continue to have it the way it is?

Well, I can't add too many features, or Keenspot's program will pale in comparison.
Seriously, though, I'll see about a storyline option. I've come to learn not to promise anything in terms of timelines, though. Something new always crops up to delay things. If I were going to guess, I'd say I ought to have something working by next week. I probably won't be doing much tweaking in the future, other than bug fixes.

------------------
